Typically most bath rugs are made from cotton – and for good reason, Cotton wears well, absorbs water well, and
dries quickly. But if you are in the market for luxury bath mats you have to consider Egyptian cotton bathroom rugs to go along with your Egyptian cotton bath towels. This find cotton is one of the softest cottons you
can find and you will typically find it used in luxury bath robes and bath towels.
But Egyptian cotton can be sue in the bath area for bath mats as well. One if the reasons that Egyptian cotton is
so prized for its softness is because of the extra long fibers that it is made from. These extra long fibers are
also great at absorbing water and make an ideal material for bath rugs that are great at absorbing water when you
step out of the bath or shower but also feel really soft on your feet.
Anytime you are shopping for towels, or sheets or rugs, any products made from cotton, or Egyptian cotton, or any
number of materials you need to read the labels - carefully. A bath mat that is advertised as “Egyptian cotton” may
not be 100% Egyptian cotton, it may be a blend. If you want a truly luxurious bath rug make sure its 100% Egyptian cotton.
While you are reading the label also check for the term “GSM” this is
a simple way to measure thickness and weight and you should be looking for something around 800-900 for a good
heavy soft bath mat.
If you want a luxury bath rug that is very soft to the touch and does its
basic job – absorbing water – really well – think about Egyptian
cotton.
